1972

Monte Carlo

This was my first serious restoration. It was a 1972 Monte with the "Custom" package. It had a 402 Big Block, turbo 400 trans,12 bolt, buckets with console and a host of the usual stuff. Note the hub caps, these where specific for this year with this package. I had a hard time with a lot of people as far as what came in the package so I carried the original brochure to all the shows I attended.

Another before shot. Note the quarter panel and the rust it had. I replaced the quarter, fenders, all the chrome and rebuilt the engine.

It turned out looking great. In fact while I was at a car show
(Super Chevy in PA.) it was photographed and then featured in Guide to Muscle Car Mag. Aug 1987.

Another after shot. Check out all the chrome. Back then all you had to do is go down to your local Chevrolet dealer and order all the parts you wanted.

Now I have to check E-bay everyday to find the trim I need.
